Using the wonderful Fiddes Hard Wax Oil to create a stunning and long lasting finish on these newly fitted bespoke stairs. Prior to any application of oil, the oak requires a fine rub down to make sure the surface is clean and smooth. Fiddes Hard Wax Oil requires two applications to new wood. After the first coat, the wood will ‘fluff up’ and feel rough again. I use a fine wet n dry sandpaper to smooth the wood between coats.
